Get Away

We decided we needed to get out of town after our week and we had been promising Brennan we'd go play in the snow since before Christmas, so we finally came through this weekend and went up to Flagstaff. We got up there Saturday afternoon and there was just a little old snow on the ground, Brennan was insisted we could play in it so we got the boys all bundled up and threw some snow balls and played in a few little snow banks. Sunday morning we woke up to a good 4-5 feet of snow covering everything.....Brennan was soooo excited! We went up to the Wing mountain snow play area (highly recommend it) and Brennan got to go sledding for the first time... Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me...I couldn't handle being responsible for taking pictures and carrying Isaac with his snowpants and winter jacket (it was a London Fog...no joke....that's for my family) Brennan LOVED it, he wasn't scared at all and he was going pretty fast down some pretty big hills!! He didn't even complain about being cold until we had been there for about an hour and his pants and feet were soaked through! (next year we might invest in some snow pants and boots if we're going to go more often!) Isaac went down in a sled with Joe and I a few times and loved it, he was laughing and asking for "more", but he got pretty cold and was tired so we went back to the car with to thaw out while Joe and Brennan did some more hills! I hadn't been sledding since I can't even remember when??? Tut hill in SD??? It was so much fun! Can't wait to go again next year!

The drive home was not quite as much fun, there wasn't much visibility as the snow was still coming down (they predicted 20 inches by the end of tonight!) Glad we got home before it got that bad!!
