Joe and I just got back from an amazing first trip to Europe! The trip started off in Weisbaden Germany for Yve and Tim's wedding (Yve is one of my very best friends who I have known since Jr. High). The German's truly know how to have a party :) The wedding was unbelievably gorgeous and classy with a gourmet five course dinner, dancing until sunrise (for those party animals not 6 months pregnant)- and a second meal around 1-2 am of traditional German food! It was amazing and we couldn't be happier for the newlyweds!! It was a whirlwind weekend trying to adjust to the time change and busy wedding schedule, we then left for Santorini Greece for the second portion of our trip. (we including the bride/groom and entire bridal party and their significant others)- what a great place to go with great friends!! Santorini is absolutely gorgeous, the weather was perfect and the sites were incredible. We ate a lot of delicious food...most drank a lot of Greek wines :) We did a trip to the black sand beach, took a sailboat ride along the cliffs and even got in the water to experience the "hot springs" (we all agreed they were minimally warm springs, the water was FREEZING)!! We did a decent amount of shopping, and lots of R&R!! After 6 days in Santorini we flew to Athens for about 24hrs and did some fast sightseeing aboard the double decker tour bus and were able to get off and climb up to see the Acropolus and the Parthenon....amazing sites!!! The only things I can think of that would've made the trip any better would be a shorter plane ride, and being able to enjoy the wine :)
Thank you Yve and Tim for letting us crash your honeymoon, we had such an incredible time!!
