Adjustments

We are now about one month into Brennan's first year of school and we're doing pretty well :) It's definitely been an adjustment for my little guy who was still taking daily naps right up until school started! He loves his class and his teacher which is most important and they have already done some really fun projects and his art folder has already been converted to an art bin ( I know some day I'll have to thin out the collection...but not yet :) Brennan seems to be doing really well in his class....it's when he comes home that we get the meltdowns due to pure exhaustion:) He's a lot like his mom...he needs food and sleep...if he is lacking either....watch out :) He's fallen asleep on the way home from school quite a few times, fell asleep just before dinner one night, and has actually taken a power nap BEFORE class (starts at 12:30) a couple of days at my insistance! I know it's really good for him and it's a good transition for him...can't imagine if I had tried to put him in full day kindergarten this year....glad we have some extra time to adjust!


During our mornings off and weekends the boys have been dying to get outside and PLAY!! Brennan's been riding his bike with me on some early morning runs and he's like my little drill sergeant! He'll slow down with me for a little while then tell me "Ok mom it's time to power-up" then he'll just start peddling like crazy and take off...it's great motivation for me...I'm not a fast runner! Isaac even enjoys coming along for a ride in the stroller.....man I can't wait for it to cool off...even at 7:30 in the morning it's too hot to be outside!!!!
